Mentor Guidelines

Brigifi values the professionalism and ethical responsibility of its mentors. As a mentor, you play a vital role in shaping the experiences and opportunities of students. To ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards, mentors are required to adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Confidentiality and Privacy:

  • Data Protection: Do not disclose or misuse any personal information of your mentees. All communications and shared data must remain confidential and comply with the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.

  • Non-Disclosure: Avoid sharing sensitive information related to Brigifi’s platform or other users without proper authorization.

2. Code of Conduct:

  • Respect and Inclusivity: Engage with mentees respectfully, avoiding any form of discrimination based on gender, caste, religion, disability, or socio-economic background.

  • Harassment-Free Interaction: Any form of harassment, including verbal, non-verbal, or physical, is strictly prohibited. Ensure a safe and positive environment for mentees.

3. Professional Integrity:

  • Genuine Mentorship: Offer advice and guidance that aligns with your area of expertise. Avoid misleading mentees by providing incorrect or unverified information.

  • Avoid Conflicts of Interest: Do not exploit your mentee relationship for personal, professional, or financial gain.

4. Legal Compliance:

  • No Solicitation: Mentors must not solicit mentees for any commercial or personal ventures, including marketing, recruitment, or investment purposes.

  • Prohibition of Unlawful Activities: Do not engage in or encourage any activities that violate Indian laws, including but not limited to fraud, defamation, or any form of discrimination.

5. Communication Standards:

  • Appropriate Platforms: Use Brigifi's official communication channels for all mentorship-related interactions.

  • Boundaries: Respect the mentee’s boundaries regarding communication frequency and timing. Avoid sending inappropriate or excessive messages.

6. Reporting Obligations:

  • Incident Reporting: Report any suspicious or inappropriate behavior of mentees or other users to Brigifi’s support team.

  • Compliance: Cooperate with investigations or inquiries initiated by Brigifi regarding misconduct allegations.

Termination of Mentorship:

Brigifi reserves the right to revoke mentorship privileges in cases of misconduct, breach of guidelines, or non-compliance with legal requirements. Mentors may also voluntarily withdraw from the program by providing prior notice.
