His academic interests focus on semiconductors, chip design, and computer networks, and he aspires to build a career at the intersection of these fields. Before joining Ashoka, Suraj was an undergraduate Physics student at IISER Kolkata. Realizing his interest in the interdisciplinary connection between computer science and physics, he transitioned to Ashoka to better align his academic pursuits with his research goals. Suraj is an INSPIRE and NIUS Scholar, and during his time as a NIUS Scholar at HBCSE, he worked on planetary sciences, including modeling exoplanet climates under different stellar and planetary conditions. In addition to his academic work, Suraj serves as a Teaching Assistant at Ashoka University, where he supports a variety of computer science courses by conducting lab sessions, grading exams, and ensuring the smooth running of classes. Suraj also has a deep passion for literature, particularly Hindi poetry, and shares his poetic work on his blogger account, "be rhyme."
